I started this business in a tiny studio apartment wanting to appeal to an audience the majority of designers avoided like the plague.
Harsh, right?
But that’s what would always come to mind every time I heard it, that constant reminder, to only serve people who have the means to pay for this luxury service.
But this right here was the very reason why I felt I didn’t belong in this space.
I didn’t see myself in this industry.
To be frank, I felt like the odds were against me.
Who was I to preach and say what to do with people's homes when I wasn’t a homeowner myself? (That doesn’t really matter, I’m just trying to prove my point here so just go with it for a moment.)
I’m a home renter.
I don’t live in a fancy apartment with an amazing view.
I don’t even have a patio for God’s sake, and to top it off, I don’t believe I should blow my budget to invest money on faux molding for a basic apartment that’s just temporary. Sorry, but no.
